Traditional French food: Niçoise salad

France has one of the richest culture in Europe. Liberty, fashion and gastronomy are just a couple of fields that tell about the country.

1st step
Season the tuna with salt and pepper. Make sure your pan is hot, add a little olive oil and sear all sides of the tuna, then set aside until plating.

2nd step
Pour some water in a pot, bring to a boil, and blanch the green beans, quail egg and potato cubes.

3rd step
Cut the bell pepper, tomato and cucumber into the shape you like and put them into the mixing bowl.

4th step
To make the dressing, you need finely chopped shallot, garlic and chili. Put all these ingredients in a mixing bowl, then add Dijon mustard (plain or with seeds), red wine vinegar. Mix them well, then add the olive oil and whisk until you get a smooth dressing.

5th step
Mix all the vegetables together, add the dressing, then put on the plate. Cut the tuna steak into a shape you like and place it on top of the salad. Peel the quail egg, cut it in half and finally place it too on the salad.
