Czech Republic, a land-locked country in central Europe with lots of national treasures. It is one of the most popular travel destinations in Europe with the capital, Prague, the cradle of the Czech culture. But the country is more than just Prague. Czech Republic is rich in tradition and natural heritages. Historical cities, mysterious castles and chateaux tell tales about this charming land. Moreover, numerous wellness and spa resorts including sport activities are waiting for travelers to let go of stress. Did you know that beer spa is also an option in Czech Republic? Yes, it is true. You can take a bath which contains different hops, malt, peat extract and brewer’s yeast while you taste the various world famous Czech beers. That sounds great, does not it? Not only beers but also the traditional Czech cuisine is worth to try.
Garlic soup with cheese and croutons: Most people know that the more alcohol they drink, the more likely they have a hangover next day. Different nations try to cure this illness using various ways. Czechs swear to eating garlic soup with cheese and croutons (“česnečka” in Czech language) after a long night to heal hangover. Making it is very easy.

Ingredients:

  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 3 potatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • caraway
  • marjoram
  • water
  • grated cheese
  • croutons

Instructions (steps of cooking):

1st step
Peel potatoes, onion and garlic cloves.

2nd step
Dice onion and stir-fry in oil in a pot. Add chopped garlic and fry shortly then pour hot water.

3rd step
Cut potatoes and place into the water. Add bouillon cube.

4th step
Sprinkle the soup with salt, pepper, caraway and marjoram. Cook until potatoes become soft. For the best taste, serve the soup with grated cheese and croutons.
